LBDS vision is to create built environments that elevate one’s perception and appreciation for space, light and form. We regard every project as completely unique and approach it from a place of curiosity and enthusiasm. We aim to design spaces that are both fresh and timeless.

We believe that great architecture lies beyond any definition of style. It is the atmosphere and spatial essence that we are after. An essence that captures and reveals the soul of a space; that is both form and emptiness.

BUILDINGS AND NATURE:
Our aim is to design buildings that thrive towards a symbiotic relationship with nature and the elements, thus elevate each other’s beauty and strength. Furthermore, we like incorporating alternative energy systems into the fabric of the built environment, so that they become an integral part of it rather than an appliqué or after thought.

COHERENCE:
At LBDS we design environments, not just strictly architecture. Thus we are involved on all fronts of design: Architecture, interior design, landscape design and even advertising and graphics.

We believe for a successful outcome, all elements that make up a particular project have to be tied together into a single coherent vision.

BUDGETS:
At LBDS we understand the importance of budget. We pride ourselves for finding innovative solutions that exceed the Client’s expectations and yet provide cost savings during construction and/or maintenance of a building.

Our cost conscious design approach never reveals itself to the eye. The trick is knowing where to spend the money, and then doing it right. Most cost savings derive from careful and intelligent planning.

HOW WE WORK:

SMALL PROJECTS:
On residential and small commercial projects, we are typically involved from initial design concept to final completion.

We work closely with our Clients, as we like to see the Client’s personality and ways of life reflected in the architecture. Our built environment may be as much us as it is them.

To ensure the quality of the final building, we oversee construction on a regular basis and emphasize the importance of close collaboration between LBDS and the general contractor. Depending on our Client’s wish, we may work with the Client’s contractor or we may bring a contractor on board.

LARGE PROJECTS:
LBDS is a licensed architecture firm and can handle local projects of any size. For international projects LBDS will typically enter a joint venture with a local architectural and/or engineering firm. In order to assure a most efficient collaboration, LBDS will start integrating the responsible architectural & engineering team at early stages of the design process. Furthermore, to ensure that the design vision will be maintained and elaborated successfully throughout the development of the project and on all scales and levels, LBDS will follow up as a design consultant for the entire duration of a project.

LBDS emphasizes on close interaction with the end-client/user, as we understand the importance of the client’s corporate identity, unique features and characteristics to be represented in the built environment. We believe that buildings as such are an integral part of a company’s public identity.

Clients that share our love of unique environments and high levels of craftsmanship. Clients that are looking for a space that fits their personality or corporate identity like a glove and as such feels very personal and intimate, independent of scale of their particular project.

EXTRA CURRICULAR WORK:
